Dining Halltop
The kitchen is the heart of the Ecology Retreat Centre. Linda, our kitchen manager, along with an amazing staff put together the most wonderful food to keep everyone nourished and happy.
Fresh, wholesome ingredients help the kitchen to make home-style meals so good you'll wish you could them have at home!

The Dining Hall is a separate building which is carpeted and has a vestibule, 3 bathrooms and 2 meeting rooms - the Kiva and the Creek-side Room.

It measures 28 feet by 42 feet in size, a total area of 1175 square feet. The Dining Hall can be used as a meeting space when meals are not being served.

Guests may also access High-speed internet through a Wi-Fi connection in the Dining Hall.

top Meeting Hall
The Meeting Hall is a separate building nestled amongst the trees and against the hillside of the ERC. With a babbling stream running just behind, birds of all kinds singing in the woods, open the windows and let the fresh breeze in, or light a fire in the wood-stove and cozy up with a hot cup of tea.

Suitable for larger groups, the Meeting Hall is within easy walking distance from the Lodge, Leader's Cabin, and the Bunkhouse. Just walk up the path into the forest and you will find the Fire Circle. Or continue along the path and walk the Dragon's Back.

The Meeting Hall is an open, carpeted 25 foot by 40 foot meeting space, a total of 1000 square feet. This space can be arranged however you need it, with tables and chairs for a meeting, floor cushions for meditation, or open for yoga. Let us know what you need.

The attached kitchenette can be used for preparing and serving snacks and beverages, and the Meeting Hall has two washrooms.

Kivatop
A carpeted meeting place with a beautiful stone fireplace, the Kiva is a beautiful room suitable for meditation, watching a movie, or having an indoor campfire! Set in a cozy windowed basement just below the Dining Hall, this is a wonderfully private sanctuary for small meetings, intimate group workshops.

The Kiva Room is 20 feet by 30 feet in size - a total area of 600 square feet - and is suitable for up to 30~40 people. Bathrooms are very close, and the kitchen is just up the stairs so coffee, tea, and snacks are not far away.

Groups have also set up the Kiva as a small "shop" to be able to sell their wares, or used it as a perfect area to gather the younger group members for supervised activities and fun while mom and dad are off participating in the workshops of their choice.

topCreekside Room
The Creekside Room is a beautiful meeting space with a fireplace and large windows. Move the meeting outside onto the deck and into the sunshine, having the nearby babbling creek and chirping birds create the perfect ambiance.

The Creekside Room is perfect gathering space for small groups, from two to twelve who want a beautiful sundrenched room to meet, relax, mediatate, or as a private space for a soothing massage.

Lodgetop
After a wonderful day of hiking, cooling off in the pool, clearing your mind with meditation, or coming together for brainstorming in a meeting, you will probably be looking forward to a well deserved rest. The Lodge is where most of the group is bedded down for the night.

The fresh, cool night air, and peaceful quiet of the forest, far away from the noise of the city help to let your body completely relax into a deep, restful sleep.

The Lodge has 15 individually heated bedrooms with 3 beds in each (one double bed and two singles) sleeping a total of 45 people. Spacious shared washrooms (separate male and female) with 8 showers and 12 sinks. It's bright central lounge can be used for socializing or as another meeting space and it is just steps away from the Leader's Cabin and the Meeting Hall.

topBunkhouse
Some groups are too large to fit everyone into the Lodge so we have the beloved Bunkhouse. The Bunkhouse offers stream-side quarters that are perfect for kids or those who like a more rustic feel. Either way you will be lulled to sleep by the babbling stream and the sounds of nature.

This is a separate building from the Lodge with its own men and women washrooms and is only a stone's throw away from the Lodge showers. It can sleep 20 people in 5 rooms with 2 bunk-beds in each room.

Leader's Cabintop
The Leader's Cabin is a small cottage that we offer to groups who would like to give thier own special guests a private space to themselves.

The Leader's Cabin has its own 4 piece washroom and a kitchenette, and is a quick walk to the Lodge and the Meeting hall.
2 bedrooms sleep up to 5 people, and perhaps one more on the futon in the sitting room.

It is the perfect place to relax undisturbed or have a few people over for a more intimate setting.

topFire Circle
Torches light your path through a beautiful, wooded valley to a stream-side fire circle, the perfect place for a midnight bon-fire.
The sound of drums, guitars, and singing voices draw you closer to a good ole fashioned campfire.
Drums also sound the heartbeat of the earth as you enter this, your own sacred space for fireside ceremony.

You do not have to worry if you have never built a fire before, we will set it up and light it for you too. All that you have to do is move in a little closer and bask in the experience.

Hiking Trailstop
Being surounded by so much untouched forest and having the privilege to be stewards these beautiful lands is something that we would like to share with all. With hiking trails, meditative spots, and inspirational scenery the Ecology Retreat Centre is encouraging others to see the reflection of the land within themselves. Our relationship to the Earth is real and ever present in all that we do.

Come and walk the trails, connect yourself to the beauty that surrounds you. Our trails move you through the forest, across and beside streams, over hills, under trees, with nature.

Allow yourself to expand with the expanse around you and suddenly you will see the magic that is all about you.

topBruce Trail

In the Caledon Hills area the Bruce Trail follows the glacial moraine deposits on top of the buried Niagara Escarpment. Mature hardwood forests and wetlands allow for wonderful birding opportunities. This section is also very popular for its fall colour display.

Suggested Bruce Trail Hikes:

Hockley Valley and the Tom East Side Trail (4.6 km)
Peter Beechham Side Trail Loop (3 km)
Devil's Pulpit and the Hoffman Lime Kilm Ruins (2.6 km)

Swimming Pooltop

Guest are welcome to use the swimming pool to cool off on hot days. Lounge by the pool and catch some sun, relax and enjoy the water.

topLabyrinth
Generously built out of stone for the Ecology Retreat Centre by the Labyrinth Society we offer an eleven-circuit, Chartres labyrinth. Cultures from all over the globe have used labyrinths, recognizing the amazingly powerful effects of this special meditative walk.

The labyrinth is a representation of the many paths of life, the spiritual path, the emotional path, the creative path just to name a few.

Groups are welcome to use the labyrinth, and we allow individuals to come and walk our labyrinth but please call us first to ensure that we can respect the privacy of groups who are currently here.
